🔎 Supreme Court meets to weigh Trump’s birthright citizenship restrictions, blocked by lower courts
The Supreme Court is considering whether to take up a case that challenges the automatic granting of U.S. citizenship to children born on American soil to noncitizen parents, a policy long defended under the 14th Amendment. Lower courts blocked parts of the administration’s effort to end so-called birthright citizenship, citing constitutional protections and longstanding precedent. If the court takes the case and rules in favor of the restrictions, it could trigger one of the most significant shifts in American citizenship law in generations. — The Seattle Times
🗺️ Supreme Court temporarily reinstates Texas’ new congressional map
Justice Samuel Alito granted Texas’s request to pause a district court’s finding that the GOP-drawn map was racially discriminatory, allowing the contested map to be used for now as litigation continues. The decision represents a critical win for Republicans seeking to gain up to five additional U.S. House seats in 2026, even amid ongoing Voting Rights Act challenges. Civil-rights groups warn that the longer the map stays in play, the more it locks in electoral advantage. — NBC News
📜 Supreme Court rules Christian-focused RE taught in NI schools is unlawful
“The Christian religious education taught in schools in Northern Ireland is unlawful, the United Kingdom Supreme Court has ruled….The court said: The family strongly support the provision of religious education provided it does not amount to indoctrination.” — BBC
⚖️ State Judges Target the U.S. Supreme Court
There is growing pushback from state supreme court justices who criticize and disavow foundational rulings of the federal judiciary, arguing that “racism” and flawed reasoning are embedded in longstanding U.S. Supreme Court precedent. It points out that while state courts are bound to follow federal law, some justices are openly voicing their dissent and calling for systemic change within legal doctrine. This appears to be part of a broader movement wherein state judiciaries are asserting independent interpretations of constitutional and civil rights issues. — State Court Report

Together we can hold the Supreme Court Accountable
⚖️ Justice belongs to the people—not to partisan judges.
America’s promise of equal justice relies on a Supreme Court that is fair and independent. Yet today that promise is breaking. A conservative majority puts ideology ahead of the Constitution, threatening reproductive rights, climate protections, and the integrity of our elections. Ethics scandals and hidden conflicts of interest deepen the crisis, eroding public trust at the very moment our freedoms hang in the balance.
But the story isn’t finished. Across the nation, people are rising to demand real reform:
Expand the Court to restore balance
Set Term Limits to end lifetime partisanship
Adopt a binding Code of Ethics to guarantee accountability
Here’s how you can act: Call your members of Congress, sign and share petitions, join groups and coalitions, write letters and op-eds, and show up for organized actions. Every ruling shapes our future. Together, we can build a Supreme Court that serves all of us—and protect the democracy we refuse to lose.
